New York has woken up to its heaviest snowfall in nearly four years after a winter storm blanketed parts of the US north-east.

New York City was hit with its biggest snowfall in several years on Friday and Saturday.

Snow totals in the Tri-State area could be between 5 to 9 inches, with heavy snow possible at times Friday evening, according to the National Weather Service.
